Rt Hon Henry McLeish address South West Scotland CJA

Cabinet Secretary visits South West Scotland CJA

Cabinet Secretary for Justice, Kenny MacAskill, visited South West Scotland CJA today to meet with the Convenor, Cllr Peter McNamara and Chief Officer, Jacqueline Clinton. Their discussions focused on the role of the CJA in implementing the proposals outlined in 'Fair Fast and Flexible Justice'.

Funding for Shortened SERs Pilot

A nine month pilot scheme to investigate the effectiveness of shortened Social Enquiry Reports or SERs has been given the go-ahead with £40,000 of funding from the Scottish Government. The pilot scheme will run in Kilmarnock Sheriff Court from September this year.
