Tackling Domestic Abuse -Event Report
The Multi Agency Domestic Abuse Group hosted an information event at Kilmarnock's Grand Hall attended by around 70 partners and interested organisations. A series of investigative workshops provided an opportunity for participants to find out about the work of eight different agencies including Working with Men, Respect, MARAC,Domestic Abuse Unit, Domestic Abuse Cluster Court, Working in Prisons, Domestic Abuse Perpetrator Pilot and the Bystander Programme. A detailed presentation on how the Caledonian System is operating in South West Scotland was well received by all. The afternoon workshops focused on identifying gaps, solutions and approaches to prevention and early intervention which together could form a co-ordinated, community wide response to domestic abuse. The Multi Agency Domestic Abuse Group will continue to progress this important area of work.
